Unfortunately, the New Jersey Devils saw their 2024-25 season officially end on Tuesday night. It was certainly an up-and-down season to say the least, but, despite the plethora of injuries, the Devils were still able to make the playoffs and contend with the Metropolitian Division runner-ups, the Carolina Hurricanes.
With the season over, we thought it would be best to reminisce on our most favorite moments from the 2024-25 season. Our staff gave their fondest below. Let us know your favorite moments in the comments!

For me, it was the game against the Rangers right before the Christmas break. 5-0 final score. That game was like old school hockey. Huge hits, a couple of great fights, big emotional investment. Great game all around with high intensity and a good old Rangers butt kicking.

Couple of highlights for me this season:
- Prague trip was amazing. I hope they get to do more Global Series events.
- Nico’s hat trick against Nashville.
- Shutting out NYR twice at home.

For me, the best moment in person was seeing Cody Glass score his first career goal as a Devil at Wells Fargo Center. Devils went on to beat up Philadelphia in that game, which is always great to see.
Watching from home, the best moment was either the double overtime winner via Simon Nemec. After all he has dealt with, seeing him get that moment and explode with joy was terrific.
Lastly, an underrated moment was Jesper Bratt somewhat, quietly, breaking the franchise’s single-season assist record. Bratt continues to be among the most underrated players in the league. Just sensational.

Not sure if it exactly counts as a “moment,” since it was more of a stretch of games, but that run of giving up under 20 shots against was incredible. Seeing the teams absolute ceiling when firing on all cylinders like that was insane.
Think the best regular season storyline was the growth of Luke Hughes, especially from a defensive aspect.
Playoff moment is going to I think be a unanimous Simon Nemec double overtime winner, but really just Nemec’s growth through adversity and his play in the playoffs in general.

The growth of Jesper Bratt. He continues to impress each and every season and manages to have career year after career year. Bratt is a driving force offensively and set a career-high in points with 88. Also, he set the record for most assists in a season, passing Scott Stevens and having 67 on the year.
Shutting the Rangers out twice at home is pretty cool.
But my favorite moment to cap it all off was Simon Nemec’s overtime goal against Carolina. Kid looked more confident too as the series went on. Need that from him.

Best moment of the postseason was Nemec overtime winner.
Best moment of the regular season was probably the Back-to-Back wins against Florida.
