Are you looking for some good material for a resume? Or just want to produce New Jersey Devils’ content for thousands to see? Well, Devils Army Network (formerly Devils Army Blog) is the place for you. At Devils Army Network we have over 16,000 dedicated followers across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
We want that number to keep rising, and the best way to do so is to expand. We are looking for eager and ready-to-learn Devils’ fans to fulfill the following positions:
Please note, these positions are not paid positions. They are solely, as the rest of us here at Devils Army Network, volunteered and for the love of hockey.
Writers:
Our writers produce a plethora of different content. There’s the normal pregame and recaps, as well as breaking news such as trades, signings, etc. Additionally, if you have an opinion or a “take” you wish to write about, go right ahead and let your voice be heard. Also, do not worry, as there is no weekly content requirements. This is a hobby for all of us, you get to go at your own pace.
Worth pointing out, we have had several writers that began at Devils Army Network and branched out and are now writing with well-known national outlets. This thanks to their experiences at Devils Army Network.
Experience Required: No prior blog writing, nor any type of school degree is needed to join us. It would certainly help, but is by no means a requirement. We like to help our new writers and mold them into more successful ones by the time they leave.
Editors:
What better addition to a resume than an editor at a blog that has nearly 13,100 followers? You’ll be the individual looking over our terrific writing staff’s articles, and posting them to our social media pages. We are looking for an individual(s) who is/are mainly available during the week.
Experience Required: Background as a former writer or editor elsewhere would be ideal. Most of our editors were writers within our group at one point.
Graphic Designer:
We have no current dedicated graphic designer on staff. This has greatly hindered our ability to grow our Instagram. Once again, this is a tremendous resume-builder and networking opportunity, as 13,100 individuals will be seeing your work on a daily basis.
Experience Required: Experience in graphic design is important. The individual must know how to use the tools and necessary to create these said graphics. Note, by experience, we do not necessarily mean you have done work at a blog in the past. Just must be able to use the software necessary to create graphics.
Game / News Updaters:
We are looking for individuals to join our social media networks update teams. There is constant news regarding the Devils that we need to keep our followers informed about. Additionally, here at Devils Army Network, we provide our followers with updates during each game. In this position, you, among others, will be responsible for keeping our social media pages updated with Devils’ news and in-game updates.
Experience Required: None. We will train you with everything you need to be successful in this position.
Website Designer / IT:
In addition to our social media pages, we also have a website where our work is published. You can check that site out right here. We are looking to improve our website and what better way to with a new voice? In addition, sometimes, like any online outlet, issues can arise. Having a technical-savvy individual who can diagnose these issues, and promptly fix them would be a big boost as well.
Experience Required: Experience working with Word Press is a must. That is the engine we use here at Devils Army Network. Knowing how to use it would be necessary to fulfill this position.
