Tommy Zilinski, Founder & CEO

Tommy, who grew up in Bridgewater, founded the Devils Army Blog in 2011 when he was a sophomore at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. After obtaining his associate’s degree in May 2016, he transferred to the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.

Some fun facts about Tommy: outside of hockey, he is a Civil War Reenactor, he loves seafood, and he enjoys traveling and spending time in nature. His favorite Devil is none other than No. 30 Martin Brodeur. His favorite, in-person, Devils moment was Travis Zajac’s overtime winner in Game 6 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Florida Panthers.

Matt McCronhan, Board Member

Matt Cook, Chief of Social Media

Matt is from Bridgewater, NJ. He is a graduate of The College of New Jersey (computer engineering) and Bridgewater-Raritan High School, where he met DAN’s founder.

Matt fell in love with the game of hockey after winning tickets to a Devils game in the 2010-11 season. Prior to that, he knew nothing about it. Now, he is a full-time season ticket holder.

Matt joined the DAN in December of 2013 to help with game-day updates. Now he overseas and manages all of DAN’s social media presence.

A fun fact about Matt is he had planned a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for January of 2018. The week he had chosen just happed to coincide with the Devils’ bye week. A few days before he left for the trip, he saw an NHL.com article saying that some players from the team were heading to Walt Disney World for a family vacation during the bye week. The first day there, Matt ended up running into Cory Schneider at Magic Kingdom and got a picture with him.

James Villani, Chief Editor & COO

Graduate of Temple University in 2020, James has been with Devils Army Network since 2016. He has been a Devils fan since the beginning despite residing in South Jersey. The lone jersey he owns, and wears to every home game he attends, is of former captain, Jamie Langenbrunner. The two most memorable games he was in attendance for was the Game 4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs and Game 3 of the 2018 playoffs, against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

James began as a writer, but soon joined the editorial board before coming the Chief Editor. He also overseas the day-to-day running of the site in a chief operating officer role.

You can find his X here. James also is an editor for Metsmerized and writes for OwlsDaily of 247 Sports. He is also an avid follower of the Miami Dolphins, New York Knicks, as well as Notre Dame athletics.

Joseph Palma, Website Administrator

Joe lives in Northern New Jersey. He grew up in West Milford, but now resides in Lincoln Park with his wife. I work in Newark, New Jersey, just a few blocks from the Prudential Center.

He has been a Devils fan for as long as he can remember. His very first memory of the Devils was his father flipping through the channels and stopping on a showing of the 1995 Stanley Cup Final at the exact moment Scott Niedermayer started his iconic coast-to-coast goal. Unfortunately, he stopped watching for a while due to some accessibility issues. I got back into watching the Devils during their 2012 playoff and Stanley Cup Finals run. Ever since then he has watched nearly every game.

Joe joined DAN in 2013 as a game updater, but has since transitioned into an information technology role ensuring the back-end of the site continues running smoothly, but still helps out with game updates as well.

Aside from hockey, Joe is a Saints fan. He is also big into gaming, as well collecting older games. If he is not playing games, Joe is probably relaxing, listening to music, or enjoying great food.

Steven Wojtowicz, Graphics

A proud graduate of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Steve has been a Devils fan since 1994. Steve became a Devils fan in part to annoy his manager at the time, who rooted for that team across the river. His most memorable Devils game was on April 17, 1997 where he got to see Martin Brodeur score the first goal of his career in the playoffs versus the Montreal Canadiens.

Steve picked up graphic design later in life as a hobby and has been developing his skills thanks to the help of YouTube University. Steve also does graphic design work for Metsmerized, a New York Mets-based blog, and is an avid photographer specializing in sports portraits. You can check out his work on Instagram @StevenWojtowicz.

He credits his loyal personality to his Mets and Jets fandom.

Jacob Goren, Writer

Jacob is from Livingston, New Jersey. With his grandparents being season ticket holders for over 30 years, Jacob is a third generation and life-long Devils fan.

Jacob joined DAN in the summer of 2020 just before his sophomore year of high school as a writer. He has contributed game coverage and other written content ever since including draft guides and other draft coverage in 2022, 2024, and 2025.

Jacob is currently studying jounalism and media studies at Rutgers University. His favorite Devils memories include being at Game 3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2018 and, most recently, Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes in 2025, where Simon Nemec buried the double-overtime winner.

Aside from hockey, Jacob loves the New York Mets, Washington Commanders, and Formula One Racing.

Jordan Kooper, Writer

Kyle Loughran, Writer

Anthony Barberio, Writer

Tommy Bennett, Writer

Tommy Originally grew up in Cresskill, New Jersey, but now resides in the state of North Carolina. Devils hockey still lives within him.

Has been a Devils fan since birth, thanks to his Dad who grew up a Devils fan the day the state got the team. Growing up, the famous line of Jason Arnott, Petr Sykora, and Patrik Elias was a favorite. Most memorably, the Devils’ game he was able to attend was Grant Marshall’s triple-overtime winner in the 2003 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Tommy has been with the site for a few years now and it’s been great to help cover the team. When it isn’t hockey season, it’s full swing into baseball and spending time outdoors.
