Here we have the third departure post of the offseason. The third and final Canadian on the Riveters roster last season— Tatiana Rafter, has decided she wants to stay closer to home next season and play in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.

It is always so hard to say goodbye to players, especially when you have not been able to read about as many signings. The 26-year-old forward was another lovable player amongst the fans and always kept a positive attitude over her three seasons in the NWHL (two with Metropolitan and one with the Buffalo Beauts).

In 60 career games, she notched 17 points including 13 goals. Rafter’s best season was her first one with the Riveters when she registered eight points (seven goals one assist) and did not take a single penalty all season.

It remains unclear which Canadian team Rafter has the most interesting in joining, but she will be in the draft this coming offseason. Having said that, two teams have been thrown around Twitter that are said to be a good fit for Rafter. Those teams would be the Calgary Inferno and the Les Canadiennes de Montreal.

As stated before, this is the third Riveters player to retire or depart from the NWHL. It will be interesting to see who they bring in to replace these three key players. As of now Amanda Kessel remains the lone signed player on the roster.

Be on the lookout for more Riveters news throughout the offseason.
