Things have been going great if you are the New Jersey Devils (29-12-3). They’ve gone on to sweep Western Canada, Eastern Canada, and now California road trips. A true testament to how dominant they have been on the road this season.

Tonight, the Devils carry a five-game winning streak into Seattle as they take on the Kraken (26-14-4). Seattle is coming off a lopsided 5-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, but before that made history as they were the first team to go undefeated on a seven-game road trip.

Both teams currently sit in second place in their respective divisions as the grind in the second half of the season continues.

What To Watch For

Young Stars For Each Team

Not only does this have the making to be competitive hockey game, but there are also some young stars worth tuning in for. Those stars are Jack Hughes and Matty Beniers.

Beniers is having a solid season as he ranks second on the team in points (35) and goals (17). He has four points in his last five games.

Hughes is simply a rock star in New Jersey. He leads the team in goals (29) and points (55). Hughes is having a strong month with nine goals, five assists, and 14 points, which includes his game-tying goal in the final seconds against San Jose.

Just tremendous young stars that will shine in the game for year’s to come.

Defensive Structure

At five-on-five, the Devils have allowed the fourth-fewest goals (71) and Seattle is 13th (82). One key thing to look for is how good both teams are when it comes to the high-danger area of the ice. The Devils have been one of the best teams in this area. They rank second in fewest chances allowed (352), and third in chances generated (499).

Seattle has generated the fifth fewest high-danger chances (373), but has the second-highest amount of goals from the area (62). They are middle of pack in chances allowed and will need to be sharp against a team capable of doing damage to them.
