Match Overview
After their 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Friday, the Devils will look to recover against the St. Louis Blues in a matinee contest today. Overall, the Devils played well against the New York Rangers, but the red-hot Igor Shesterkin stood tall in net, snuffing out their chances. Hopefully, they can continue that solid play into today’s game.
The Devils hold a record of 19-31-5 and are in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division. The Blues own a record of 32-15-6 and sit in second place in the Central Division.

Keys to the Game
Pavel Zacha Returns
After a non-COVID-related illness kept him out of the lineup on Friday, Pavel Zacha is set to return today. Zacha is one of the Devils’ hottest trade chips, so having him healthy will benefit both parties. It’ll be interesting to see if Zacha is limited at all in his first game back from his illness.
Other Injuries
That being said, it does seem like this non-COVID illness is spreading around the team. According to Amanda Stein, Jimmy Vesey was absent from yesterday’s practice because of it.
On top of this, Stein reported that Nico Hischier and Nathan Bastian were taking “maintenance days” and were not present at yesterday’s skate. However, they will likely play today.
Today’s game will air on MSG+ at 1:00 PM ET.
