The New Jersey Devils look to string together their second straight victory against the Colorado Avalanche tonight. Following a 6-0-0 start, the Avalanche have been on a skid as of late losing three of their last four with all three losses being shutouts.
The Devils are 7-3-1, good enough for second in the Metropolitan division. The Avalanche hold a record of 7-3-0, which also has them at second in the Central division.

Keys to the Game
Depth Stepping Up
With the Devils top two centers being both out for at least tonight, the squad is going to need their depth to continue to step up and score in big moments. On Sunday, Dawson Mercer scored his first of the season, along with goals by Max Willman in his season debut, and Curtis Lazar who has scored in back-to-back games.
The Devils will need guys like that and more to continue to contribute with the absences of their two stars.
Avalanche Struggling
The Colorado Avalanche should head into this game with a little bit of fire in them. The team has lost three of their last four games, being shutout by the Penguins, Sabres, and Golden Knights by a combined score of 15-0 in that span.
This Colorado team is probably looking at this game with a depleted Devils squad as a game to get back on their feet so New Jersey has to be alert at all times, no slow starts.
Where To Watch
The Devils and Canadiens matchup is slated for a 10:00 pm ET puck drop. The game can be seen on TNT as well as being streamed on MAX.
