Keys to the Game
Young Devils’ Defensemen
Both of the Devils’ top defensive prospects – Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec – are slated to be back in the lineup tonight. As outlined in our recap, the due struggled last time out. Hopefully it’s a better go of it tonight.
Getting a Glimpse of the Other New York Team
This preseason, the Devils have been familiar with the team headed south down the turnpike. They’ve played them twice and have outscored the Flyers 8-2. Furthermore, they’ve had a date with the Rangers for the first time since defeating them in Game 7. However, up next is the other New York team.
The Islanders are coming off a 5-3 victory against the Rangers and saw their big guns get to work. In addition, they have two good goalies in Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin that is a good test for the Devils overall. The Islanders did not do much this offseason but will get a look at what they are capable of doing.
