Overview

The New Jersey Devils look to continue to get back on track and sweep the back-to-back against the St. Louis Blues tonight. The team is 2-0-1 in their last three games after going 1-8-1 in the 10 prior.

The Blues have been a hot and cold team all year, which has resulted in a mediocre record. St. Louis has collected points in four of their last five games, going 2-1-2 in that stretch.

The Devils hold a record of 24-11-3 and are in second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Blues are 18-17-3 and sit fifth in the Central Division.

Keys to the Game

Dougie All-Star?

With the first 32 NHL All-Stars being revealed tonight on ESPN, it’s time to start thinking about who will be repping New Jersey. Jack Hughes is the obvious candidate, but with each team needing a few defenseman Dougie Hamilton becomes an option.

Hamilton is sixth in the NHL in terms of points among defenseman, and second in the division. The only blueliner in the Metro who has more points than Dougie is Rangers’ star Adam Fox.

We’ll most likely have to see if he gets voted in, but there is a real case for Hamilton to attend his second ever All-Star game.

St. Louis Feeling the Injury Blues

While the Blues still have a ton of talent all over their lineup, it has been weakened quite a bit by injuries. It was announced just a couple days ago that both Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko would be going on the injured reserve with long-term injuries. This is on top of already missing defensemen Scott Perunovich, Marco Scandella, and Torey Krug.

Where To Watch

Tonight’s game at the Prudential Center is scheduled for a 7:00 P.M. puck drop. The game can be seen on MSG SportsNet.
