Overview
The New Jersey Devils look to take the Metropolitan division tonight against the Washington Capitals. The Capitals have had a ton of injury issues as of late, which has caused a skid of just two wins in their past 11 games.
After falling to the Boston Bruins on Saturday, the Devils clinched home ice in round one with a historic win on Tuesday which put them up to 110 points on the year.
The Devils hold a record of 51-22-8 and are second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Capitals are 35-37-9 and sit sixth in the Metro.

Seeding Scenarios
After the results of the past two days, the Devils will either be playing the Florida Panthers or New York Rangers in round one. The scenarios are:
- Devils win + Hurricanes loss = Panthers
- Devils OT/SO loss + Hurricanes regulation loss = Panthers
- Devils win + Hurricanes win = Rangers
- Devils regulation loss + any Hurricanes result = Rangers
Whoever or whatever result you would like to root for is up to you but that’s how tonight will play out. The Islanders winning last night adds an extra wrinkle to this because it gives something for Florida to play for, against the Hurricanes.
The Hughes’ 100
After breaking the single season franchise point record Tuesday night with an empty-net goal, Jack Hughes still has a shot to become the first 100 point scorer in team history. Sitting at 97 right now, there’s a real shot Jack can pick up three points against an injured Washington team with nothing to play for.
Where To Watch
