The Devils come into tonight’s game in the midst of a heated battle at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The Devils are tied with five other teams with 49 points as of writing this article. They had a chance to separate themselves but fell in their last game to the Los Angeles Kings.
Tonight they hope to right the ship against the Washington Capitals. The Capitals had their three game winning streak snapped by the Ottawa Senators in their last game. They are currently first in the entire conference and will be a tough opponent.

Keys to the Game:
It is going to be a tough game for the defense. The Capitals are extremely skilled up front and have many different weapons they can use to put pucks in the back of the net. Whether it be Backstrom, Ovi, or Oshie they consistently have skilled players on the ice who can score goals. It will be imperative for the defense to limit their chances and to get some timely saves from their goalie.

Players to Watch:
devils6
Alexander Ovechkin: This is a cop out answer but always pay attention when the “Great 8” is on the ice. He is the best goal scorer ever and that should be appreciated by every fan.
cut
Miles Wood: Wood is quickly becoming a folk hero among Devils fans. They see him as a symbol of the speed and youth working its way into the Devils system. He also has a ton of fun on the ice and plays an exciting brand of hockey. Watch for Wood to make some plays tonight.

Prediction:
The Capitals are the best team in the Eastern Conference. The Devils are 15th. But I will give the Devils credit for playing better in their past handful of games. When they are playing well they can hang with anybody as evidenced by their win over the Minnesota Wild. I predict they push this game to OT but Ovi ends it quickly.
3-2 Capitals in OT.

SB’s Record
7-4
