Players to Watch
John Carlson… The New Jersey-raised native is healthy and ready to continue his incredibly hot start to the season. The 28-year-old has 26 points in 23 games, 21 of them being assists. He has done an even better job of improving his stick handling skills from what was easily the best season of his career last season. He now has a max contract and is on pace to have an even better season. Expect him to have a huge impact at the point.
Keith Kinkaid… It is no secret that the Devils goaltenders have been very inconsistent this season, especially when they are not at the Prudential Center. So there is a lot of weight on Kinkaid’s shoulders to potentially steal a big game on the road. Kinkaid is the number one right now, so it is up to him at the moment to keep the puck out of the net.
What to Watch
Look for this game to have a very fast pace to it in the early stages. This could present a lot of problems for the Devils early on, as they have had some rough first periods lately. If we are being honest here, the Devils have struggled against everybody they face and I predict this will continue. Take the Capitals to win by a final of 4-1.
