Devils Visit Boston Bruins In Final Road Game of 2018 (Thank Goodness)

The New Jersey Devils are taking on the Boston Bruins at TD Garden tonight at 7:00. We are all aware of the Devils struggles on the road with a 3-12-3 record. That is beyond abysmal and New Jersey will look to turn it around in their final game of the 2018 calendar year, although they notoriously struggle against Boston. To make the challenge even greater, they’ll have to earn a victory without two of their top-six forwards.

DAB Pregame: Devils Hope To Avoid Season Sweep Against Lightning

Last season, the New Jersey Devils (9-11-5) swept their season series against the Tampa Bay Lightning (19-7-1). Now, the shoe is on the other foot, as the Bolts have won both games played so far in blowout fashion. The Devils will have home ice advantage against Tampa Bay for the first time this season tonight, so there is reason to be optimistic as the Devils have performed well on home ice and abysmal on the road. New Jersey is looking to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning while also hoping to end a five-game losing streak when the puck drops tonight at the Rock at 7pm.

Who Is Responsible For The Devils Poor Start

Devils fans on social media have been justifiable frustrated and angry with the team’s performance, deservedly so, and have been pointing the finger of blame at scapegoats ranging from Coach John Hynes, to the defense, to the netminders, to the offense. Surely, injuries are partly to blame for the team’s sudden drop-off in play. But there is one single man who has not gotten much of the criticism that is deserved.

Achieving Greatness: What The Devils Must Do

The Devils opened their season with four consecutive victories, posting two shutouts and outscoring opponents 17-4 in that span. Since then, the team has gone 1-3-1 in their last five games played and have been outscored 24-14 throughout those games, with their only victory in that span coming from a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers where they surrendered two goals late in the third period and looked like Bambi on ice for the last 20 minutes. Now, after an abysmal stretch, many fans are wondering: are the New Jersey Devils a good team? What do they need to do to become a great team? We break that down for you here.
