Introduction
Tonight the Devils come back home after falling in all three games on their “road trip of doom.” The team’s losing streak is now at five and they have lost eight of their last 10. This includes blowing a 3-1 and a 4-2 lead in the third period of last night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Whether for good or bad, the Devils will get another crack at the Leafs tonight in New Jersey.

Pregame Notes
- Damon Severson struggled last night in Toronto. He played a two-on-one so awfully, I am not sure he could repeat it if he tried to. Nonetheless, he, with the rest of his teammates, will look to bounce-back to form. Prior to last night, the 27-year old defenseman was on quite the run. During his past 12 games he has three goals and 12 total points.
- Toronto forward, and former first overall pick, Auston Matthews is on a tear this season. After scoring a hat trick and picking up an assist last night, Matthews is now up to 28 goals and 49 total points in just 38 games this season. That puts him on pace for a whopping 60 goals by year’s end. This is the second consecutive season where he is on pace for 60 or more goals.
Tonight’s game is slated to being at 7:00 PM ET and can be seen on MSG.
