As we await the finalizing of the Metropolitan Riveters roster and the hiring of a head coach, it seems as good of a time as any to discuss some expectations for certain Riveters for the upcoming season. Today, let’s focus on a second-year player but first-year Riveter, Kristin Lewicki.
The 23-year-old forward had a solid rookie season for the Buffalo Beauts. She suited up for 14 out of 16 regular season games and both playoff games. She put up five goals and three assists combined as a rookie. Lewicki also was a part of Team Leveille for the 2018 All-Star game and competition. She was crowned fastest skater by less than half a second over last year’s champion, Metropolitan forward Rebecca Russo.

Needless to say, there are high hopes for Lewicki to have an even better second season in the NWHL. I would expect her to play in all 16 games and exceed double digits in points. She was a solid scorer during her time with Adrian college. So there is no reason to think she will not get over 10 points. There are many places for her in this lineup, but I predict she will most likely land on the second line and possibly some games with Russo. Try imagining a two-on-one or two-on-zero with them on the rush. My advice, do not blink or you will miss it.
She will also sport the jersey number 25. No Riveter had that number last season and her number 27 with the Beauts is currently worn by defenseman Michelle Picard. Overall, I expect a great season from one of the newest Riveters and think she will fit in perfectly for whomever the next head coach may be.
