
A lot has been made of the performance of general manager Tom Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald took over on an interim basis in 2020 and was transitioned to the full-time role that same year.
Under his reign, the Devils have transitioned their expectations from rebuilders to contenders. However, they have not quite yet been able to take that next step. Now, the team is seemingly in a free-fall after injuries have mounted to a seemingly unsurvivable point.
With all that being said, Elliotte Friedman’s most recent reporting says Fitzgerald’s job seems safe for the time being. Should he actually be under fire?
