Notes
Is Timo Time Soon?
With the Devils buying at the trade deadline for the first time in quite some time, their top target is clearly Timo Meier. After the Islanders went out and got Bo Horvat and the Rangers got Vladimir Tarasenko this should be especially clear.
The Devils have been stockpiling the assets to make a big splash like this for quite some time. According to NHL Insider Elliott Friedman, the Devils told the Sharks to come back to them before they accept any offer. Unlike the rumored acquisitions in the offseason, let’s hope that this one comes to fruition.
Kirill The Thrill
While we’ve been witnessing the tremendous play of a currently injured Jack Hughes, Wild fans have been rejoicing over Kirill Kaprizov. The 25-year-old winger currently has 62 points in 51 games. This comes after he broke Wild records last season with 47 goals and 108 points.
He’s a special talent from Russia, and if the Devils can develop their own young KHL star in Arseni Gritsyuk into anything like Kaprizov, New Jersey would be thrilled.
