Overview

The New Jersey Devils (24-12-3) will take on the New York Rangers (22-12-6) today at 1:00 P.M. ET at the Prudential Center. They lost their last game against the St. Louis Blues 5-3.

After Thursday’s loss, the Devils lost eight-straight home games. They haven’t won in front of their fans in almost a month, and they’ll be itching to turn that around against their fiercest rival.

The Devils sit in second place in the Metropolitan Division, and the Rangers are one point behind them in third.

Keys to the Game

Jack Hughes The All-Star

Jack Hughes is on a tear, what else is new? The young winger is riding a four-game goal streak, with six goals and seven points during that stretch.

He now has 46 points in 39 games played. Recently, Hughes was named to the Metropolitan All-Star team, his second appearance in as many years. Look for Hughes to be a force on the ice today.

Hamilton Needs To Bounce Back

Dougie Hamilton had a tough night on Thursday. He made a couple of bad plays and generally seemed lost. Head coach Lindy Ruff criticized him directly after the game, a sign of the mounting frustration the Devils are facing. Look for Hamilton to have a nice bounce-back game today.

Today’s game can be seen on MSGSN at 1:00 PM EST.
