Here’s Your Feel Good Hockey Story of The Day, Courtesy Of The St. Louis Blues

Introduction

I don’t know a lot about St. Louis because I’ve never been there. The few things I do know is that they have a giant arch, Budweiser beer and John Hamm.

Also, why didn’t Martin St. Louis ever play for the St. Louis Blues? Imagine the marketing opportunities of having St. Louis on St. Louis! Also, how many times reading that to your mind change from pronouncing it “St. louis” to “San Louie”?

Enough With Name Puns, What Happened In St. Louis?

What I do know is that St. Louis Blues are no strangers to feel good stories. In addition to having a pretty good hockey team, they’ve had more than their fair share of inspirational headlines over the years. The entire hockey world fell in love with Laila during their 2019 Stanley Cup run that brought them their first championship in franchise history. Those photos of her on the ice with the cup and celebrating with the team were something special. Don’t forget they had us all singing “GLORIA” for a while too.

The latest feel good story to come out of St. Louis doesn’t really come from St. Louis. It actually comes from north of the border. That’s where Blues’ Captain Ryan O’Reilly’s mother did a good deed for a family friend.

Lesson of The Day

If this story teaches us anything, it’s be nice to every one you meet, because one day you might need a kidney from them. Just kidding. The simple gesture of giving the O’Reilly kids more ice time was instrumental on them achieving and reaching their dreams. Bonnie O’Reilly paid him back in a way he could have never believed.

Is this New Jersey Devils related? No. Is this hockey related? Well, kind of. Look, we all needed a feel good story to start off our week. Stay gold, Bonnie O’Reilly. Thanks for inspiring us all to be a little kinder today.
